Settings

In the settings menu you can tweak a lot of settings for the game.
There are 5 different categories of setting pages: video, audio, controls, general & notifications.
To access the settings menu you can click the cogwheel icon on the top right of your screen.

infoChanging settings while you're in game is possible but the changes will not always be applied to your current match.

Video settings

Auto quality

By default most of the quality settings such are adjusted automatically.
This means that if you have bad performance the quality will be lowered and visa versa.

tipWe really recommend disabling auto quality.
Choose the quality settings that work for you once you've played a few games!

Quality presets

Once you have auto quality disabled you can choose a quality preset.
There are 7 presets ranging from lowest to highest.
When changing the preset you will see the settings below change.
For example when you have it set to lowest most things are disabled and the resolution is set to 60%.

There is also the option to select custom preset.
When you have the custom preset selected you will be able to change all the quality settings manually.

Resolution scale (big impact)

The resolution scale basically scales the whole game canvas up or down based on the selected percentage.
This can result in more crisp and a better looking game if you scale it up and if you scale it down things will get blurry.

For example if you put it at 200% the game canvas will be scaled up x2.
This means that if you have a 1920x1080 resolution it would then render at 3840x2160.
The game canvas is then scaled back down so that it fits on your screen.

Quality multiplier (low impact)

The quality multiplier is used for textures, shaders (filters) and a few other things.
In most cases you just want to match up your quality multiplier with the resolution scale.

Anti aliasing (big impact)

Enabling anti aliasing will make curves and other textures/sprites look less jagged and more smooth.
This can come at a high performance cost for certain older GPU's so it's worth it to try turn it off and see if your performance improves.

Shadows (low impact)

Most objects in the game have shadows, disabling this setting will turn them off.

Particles (low impact)

Particles are basically effects with a bunch of small sprites, for example the smoke that comes out of your ship.
Disabling particles will remove all these particles in the game.
There are a lot of places where particles are used so try it for yourself to see if you like it without.

Animations (low impact)

Some skins have animated line textures such as the cauldron and the vip skin.
Disabling animations will stop those textures from animating.

Fullscreen

Toggle to enable or disable full-screen mode.
Do note that there is also a full-screen button above the cogwheel on the top right.
In most browsers you can also use F11 to toggle full-screen.

Spotlight

When enabled there will be a spotlight (circle) shown around your own ship.

Ship HUD

When disabled you will no longer see any HUD (UI) elements around your ship.
They will only be visible when you press TAB.

Emotes

When disabled you will no longer be able to see emotes (cosmetics) sent by other players.
You will also not be able to send emotes yourself.

Ship visibility

When the ship is hidden you will get a small triangle instead of your ship.
Other players will still see your ship and you will still see ships of your opponents.

Ship parallax animation

When you steer your ship some parts of your ship skin will animate a little.
Disabling these animations will make your ship like a static image without the animations.

Ship pivots

Most ships have pivots on the bottom but some ships have parts of the texture that stick out behind the back.
The ships that have this have an offset pivot so that the ship rotates around another position.
Disabling pivots will make it so all ships have the pivot at the bottom, this might look quite ugly on some ships.

Event feed

On the bottom right we have an event feed where you can see all the recent events in that round of the match. You will be able to see how many points you stole from opponents/how many they stole from you, as well as who died in the round.
Disabling the event feed will hide this completely.
